Terms of Use

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Rethink Organic Network Limited a company registered in Kenya, which makes the Mkuu-lima app, on Android, the web and desktop. You accept them when you set your PIN in the app. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

2. Who can use Mkuu-lima

You must be 18 or older and have a Kenyan mobile number. You can create an account yourself or join a farm you've been invited to.

3. Your account and PIN

• Keep your PIN secret and don't share your account. After three wrong PINs the account locks until you reset the PIN with a code we text you.
• Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account.
• Keep your phone number up to date. It's how you sign in and how alerts reach you.

4. Farms and roles

Each farm has one owner, and can have managers and workers. The owner decides who joins and what role they have. Managers look after the farm's places, settings and records. Workers record feeding, moves, stages and harvests. Everyone on a farm sees its records. Only the owner can hand the farm to someone else or erase it.

Records you make belong to the farm, so they stay with it if you leave the team.

5. What alerts can and can't do

Mkuu-lima's sensors and text alerts are there to help you notice problems early. They work only when the sensor has power and a Wi-Fi connection, our service is running, and the phone network delivers the message. Readings arrive on a schedule set for your farm, not continuously.

So alerts can be late or not arrive at all, and a sensor can fail. You remain responsible for looking after your farm and for decisions you make based on the readings. Tell us promptly if a sensor stops reporting or seems wrong.

6. Using it fairly

Don't use Mkuu-lima to break the law, to access farms or accounts that aren't yours, to interfere with the service or the sensors, or to send false information. We may suspend an account that does.

7. Paid services

The app is free to download and use. Our kits, sensor rentals and the monthly monitoring service are sold or rented under a separate written agreement that you read and sign before paying. Prices and payment are agreed directly with Rethink Organic, never inside the app. If a payment is late, the agreement explains what happens. Critical alerts aren't switched off for late payment.

8. Your information and records

Our Privacy policy explains what we collect and why. Owners and managers can download a farm's records at any time (the farm's Settings, Export data). We may use combined figures from many farms, without names, to improve the system and report on results.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time: see Delete your account. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can. Deleting an account doesn't end a rental or purchase agreement; that agreement says how it ends.

10. Our responsibility

We provide Mkuu-lima with reasonable care and skill, and we work to keep it running. We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we don't promise any particular harvest, saving or income. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility we have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11. Law and disagreements

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If we can't agree, either of us may ask for mediation in Kenya before going to court.

12. Changes

We'll update the date at the top when these terms change. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you in the app and ask you to accept it before you carry on.
